‘Tis The Season Of Giving

We know there’s a lot of gift giving going on right now, especially because we’re quickly approaching the holiday season, and we’d like to remind everyone that Harley-Davidson has teamed up with Wouned Warrior Project, to join efforts in raising money to support wounded veterans and their families.

Founded in 2003, the 501(c)3 non-profit organization now has over 20 programs operating, and as described in wikipedia, are broken down into 4 categories: Body, Mind, Economic Empowerment, and Engagement. The Body section of the programs focus on “physical health and wellness”, while the Mind section guides our warriors through the “combat stress recovery program”. Economic Empowerment “helps members meet their educational goals and aim to support their personal health and wellness, mental health and career development”, and finally, Engagement, through “the Alumni program provides long-term support and camaraderie for wounded veterans through events, discounted services and an online community.”

Now through January 11th, 2016, stop in and make a contrubtion to Wounded Warrior Project with any of our cashiers! Next to the Parts and Accessories counter, pick up a sticker showing you’ve made an effort to help out the great cause,

and write your name on a dog tag slip so we can hang it on the wall and show off how supportive our community is of our veterans.

They’ve proudly served our country, and Wounded Warrior Project offers the opportunity for us to reciprocate. Happy holidays, from the Avalanche Harley-Davidson family to yours!

Happy Holidays

With the holidays right around the corner, there sure is a lot of commotion going on! Then again, when is there not a lot of commotion going on!? But why are the holidays so important?

Holiday

This time of the year people tend to get extra busy cleaning, cooking, planning, shopping, and gift-wrapping in order to prepare for the holidays. We all struggle balancing work and fun, and try to remember the importance of the holiday and not to get too bogged down in the details.

Traditions like caroling, eating at /visiting a certain place, making gingerbread houses, baking holiday goodies, going for a horse-drawn wagon ride, kissing under the mistletoe, holiday decorating, putting up a Christmas tree, getting together with others to celebrate, and volunteering to help those less fortunate are some of the amazing things we all look forward to this time of year! Whats your favorite Holiday tradition?

Here at the dealership, one of our Motorcycle Department managers and his family have a Thanksgiving tradition of eating a big meal and spending the day together. In fact, they’ve kindly opened their doors to some of the employees who won’t be able to visit their families this year. Avalanche is our home away from home, and for some employees the only family they have withing hundreds to thousands of miles. We are fortunate to have the option to spend it together!

The Ladies of HOG from our Denver Chapter have teamed up and are getting ready to help out this holiday season too! They have “adopted a family” in need this season and will be supply the family with Thanksgiving dinner and some gifts under the tree for Christmas. They’re also helping out at Redeeming Love Fellowship Church on 41st and Kalamath in Denver. If you’d like to volunteer somewhere this holiday season there are many places like this one who’d appreciate any help offered.

Be good and safe this holiday season, and the rest of the year too! We hope you have a lot of fun and get a chance to do something you consider extra special!
